Mississauga-Oakville Critical Care department is currently welcoming a dependable and outgoing Veterinary Assistant to join our team. This temporary opportunity includes a range of responsibilities which directly contribute to the efficient and effective daily operation of the department. Previous experience in a Veterinary Hospital is an asset in this role.
- Caring for our patients; feeding, walking and offering a gentle voice of assurance
- Ensure animal housing or enclosure is clean, sanitary and comfortable
- Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for patients and pet parents
- Excellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting pets and pet parents at ease and creating a welcoming environment
- General housekeeping duties
- Willingness to learn more regarding veterinary services and updated medical procedures
- Compassion and a nurturing attitude
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and maintain a high quality of care in a busy environment
- Ability to adapt to changing situations
- Working with a team focus, assisting the veterinary staff with various procedures, tasks and treatments
Our Critical Care ACAs will work closely with and learn from our specially trained RVTs, ACAs, Emergency Doctors, board-certified Critical Care Doctors and other specialists.
