**VCA Canada Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital **in Oakville, Ontario, Canada is seeking a Board-certified or Board-eligible Internal Medicine Specialist (permanent, part time to full-time) to join our specialty health care team.
We are currently a busy and growing multidisciplinary hospital with an experienced and friendly internal medicine service. Our internal medicine department consists of four board certified internists, and an internal medicine intern starting summer 2021. This permanent, part time to full time position consists of 2-4 days per week, with on call responsibilities averaging one weekend a month and 1-1.25 evenings per week. The number of routine days scheduled per week is negotiable. There is also the option to join our satellite clinic in Guelph, Ontario and share time between the two hospitals. Our internal medicine specific services include gastrointestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, rhinoscopy, and both rigid and flexible cystoscopy; abdominal and thoracic ultrasonography, ultrasound guided aspiration and biopsy; fluoroscopy; bone marrow aspiration and biopsy; and arthrocentesis. A full complement of on-site diagnostic imaging equipment includes 2 digital radiography suites, OEC 9900 Plus fluoroscopy unit, Toshiba Aquilion 64 Slice CT, and Symphony 1.5T MRI suite.
We have large and experienced emergency and ICU departments that operate 24/7. The remainder of the specialty team includes a board-certified dentist, cardiologist, on site clinical pathologist, oncologist, surgical oncologist, two anesthesiologists, two neurologists, two criticalists, four surgeons and three physical therapists. After hours and weekend care is provided through our emergency clinic and critical care service staffed with 12 full/part-time emergency veterinarians. We also support a rotating internship, currently with 6 interns.
