Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Assistant / Phlebotomist to join our mobile collection team. The ideal candidate is professional, independent, and comfortable working in a variety of community settings.

You will be responsible for performing blood collections, ECGs, and urine sample collections while ensuring patient comfort, accuracy, and compliance with all safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture following established protocols and infection control procedures.
  • Conduct ECG (electrocardiogram) tests and urine sample collections as required.
  • Accurately label, document, and handle specimens to maintain sample integrity.
  • Ensure proper transport and storage of collected specimens according to lab standards.
  • Provide excellent patient care and communication, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
  • Safely operate a personal vehicle to travel between client locations.
  • Maintain and organize supplies and equipment within the mobile collection kit.
  • Adhere to occupational health and safety standards and follow company policies.
  • Communicate effectively with the laboratory, clients, and team members regarding scheduling or collection issues.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant / Phlebotomy program.
  • Current CSMLS certification (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent phlebotomy experience, preferably including community or mobile collections.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Access to a reliable personal vehicle suitable for transporting specimens and equipment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism in diverse environments.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification a must.
  • Proof of clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
