Overview

Shoreline Building Performance is seeking a motivated and results-driven Solar & Home Performance Sales Professional to join our growing team. This role focuses on working with homeowners to design and sell solar, battery, and home performance solutions that reduce energy costs, improve comfort, and increase long-term home resilience.

The ideal candidate combines strong consultative sales skills with excellent customer service and the ability to guide clients through high-value purchasing decisions with clarity and confidence. Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-home and virtual consultations with homeowners to assess energy usage, goals, and suitability for solar and home performance upgrades
  • Educate clients on available solutions, including solar PV systems, battery backup options, and integrated home performance improvements
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of prospective clients using CRM software to track opportunities, follow-ups, and deal progress
  • Present system options clearly and professionally, addressing customer questions, concerns, and objections
  • Negotiate pricing and close sales while maintaining company margin and scope integrity
  • Coordinate with technical and operations teams to ensure accurate system design and a smooth transition from sale to installation
  • Maintain a high standard of customer experience throughout the sales process, fostering trust and long-term relationships
  • Stay informed on industry trends, incentive programs, and evolving technology to continuously improve sales effectiveness

Experience

  • Proven experience in residential outside sales, consultative sales, or high-ticket home improvement sales (solar, HVAC, construction, or related fields preferred)
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills, with the ability to guide customers to timely, confident decisions
  • Experience using CRM platforms (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar) to manage leads and sales activity
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-first approach
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based or in-home sales environment
  • Professional, reliable, and highly organized
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally for appointments
  • Interest in renewable energy, home performance, and sustainable building practices

Pay: $40,000.00-$172,000.00 per year
