As the Decision Support Consultant, you will be a strategic business partner who applies comprehensive knowledge of the business performance drivers of financial risk and return to identify areas for improvement. You will create innovative solutions and present them to senior business partners. You will provide mentorship to less senior Financial Analysts, coaching them in their research and analysis functions.

How you will create impact:
  • Evaluating the business financial condition by designing and applying specific modeling techniques, applying advanced insight to determine relevant key performance drivers.
  • Contributing to business case development and supporting management in unique and complex business case development.
  • Researching best practices and analyzing competitive, economic, and regulatory environment to identify complex issues and advantages, creating innovative solutions to ensure competitive advantage.
  • Recommending highly developed short-term and long-term solutions for improved performance, through delivery of effective presentations to senior business partners, employing appropriate tools and visuals to illustrate a creative interpretation of high-level information.
  • Negotiating with business partners, under the guidance of more senior Financial leadership, to translate solutions into action items, ensuring they are incorporated into strategic planning and budget processes.
  • Providing leadership in the development and documentation of departmental processes and procedures, including efficiency improvements.
To join our team:
  • You have 4 years financial experience.
  • You have a university degree in a business-related discipline with some post-secondary education specializing in business or accounting.
  • You have or are near completion of CA/CGA/CMA designation program, or equivalent advanced business education (e.g. MBA with a financial specialization).
  • You have a comprehensive, in-depth understanding of insurance industry, and specific business area operations

Expected salary range $72,847 - $121,411

The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.

Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
