Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will ensure that all equipment operates efficiently, minimizing downtime and supporting the operational needs of our organization.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Conduct inspections to identify potential problems before they lead to failure
- Use welding and fabrication skills for repairs requiring metal work
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized diagnostic equipment safely and effectively
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment during heavy lifting and equipment operation
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed
- Assist with assembly, installation, and testing of new machinery or components
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding repair status and technical issues
Skills
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or similar role with dealership experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of Caterpillar, HVAC systems, industrial equipment, and automotive repair techniques
- Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints for troubleshooting complex systems
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools
- Experience working with excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and other heavy machinery
- Mechanical expertise in electrical systems related to heavy equipment operation
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment when necessary
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on customer service and safety compliance
- Knowledge of assembly processes and maintenance routines for industrial machinery
This position offers an opportunity for experienced mechanics to apply their skills in a dynamic environment dedicated to safety and operational excellence.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $27.97-$45.54 per hour
