As an Estimator working in the Pre-Construction team at Pomerleau Construction, you will support new and ongoing project growth and challenge industry standards with your trade-driven expertise and knowledge. Working on large-scale building and infrastructure projects – ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $500 million – you will work closely with our proposals team and various client groups to secure bids and ensure project success.

What you will do

  • Contribute to the bid process cycle.
  • Identify project-specific prices for labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Accurately interpret technical specifications with a keen eye for detail.
  • Perform thorough quantity take-offs to ensure precise contract specifications and pricing.
  • Maintain a focus on client pricing requirements for project feasibility.
  • Cultivate relationships with trade partners, consultants, and clients to achieve project goals.
  • Explore innovative solutions and opportunities within the parameters of the project.

This role could be for you if you have

  • 1-2 years of estimating experience in the construction industry.
  • A University Degree, College Diploma or certificate in Engineering or Construction Management. Or a combination of education and industry experience.
  • A proven track record of project coordination and team collaboration.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience building relationships with industry and project stakeholders.
  • An understanding of the bid process cycle.
  • Strong research skills to identify and analyze project-specific costs.
  • Experience in quantity take-offs to guarantee accuracy in contract specifications and pricing.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with estimating software
