About This Role:

Workplace Arrangements:

This role will follow a hybrid remote/onsite schedule. Applicants for this role can expect to work on-site from our Ottawa Head Office, on Walkley Road 3-4 days a week.

Role Purpose: Provide support to the QA Team to ensure that all Private Brand food and non food products are produced in facilities that are aligned with Giant Tiger Quality standards, and all products meet quality brand standards and positioning.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Support the activities of QA Manager in implementation of QA processes to ensure that all Private Brand products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability aligned to Brand standards
• Support the execution of sensory testing, samples preparation & management, test kitchen maintenance, data analysis and communication
• Coordinate the review and approval of production samples while working cross-functionally with other internal teams. Supports evaluation of product quality consistency, and adherence to specs to determine supplier compliance.
• Support QA Manager with the documentation and knowledge related to labeling and packaging, Health Canada & CFIA requirements, Nutritional fact table etc
• Support the development of New products, coordinating cross functionally, adhering to the Private Brand Process & Guidelines
• Supports artwork label development by collecting product briefs, ensuring accurate product certification, and label review.

What You'll Bring:

• Post-secondary education in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related discipline
• 1-3 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Sensory Science or Regulatory Compliance in food and beverage industry
• Good knowledge and relevant practical experience in quality systems, analytical testing and sensory & consumer research
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to effectively manage time and prioritize is required
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to learn fast, ambitious and come up with new innovative ideas
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required
• Positive attitude and a results-oriented mindset
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Love for product and passion for the Giant Tiger Customer

Assets You May Have:

• Experience with Health Canada/CFIA regulations
• Experience with BRC, HACCP
• Proficiency in French

$51, $77,500.00
