Compensation:
From $54.94 to $60.43 per hour, according to experience.

Regular Work Hours:
From 9 am to 5 pm, not including 1 hour unpaid lunch break, Monday to Friday (35 work hours per week).

Work Location:
100% onsite at client's downtown Toronto campus, near TTC station, and with free parking provided.

Supervisory Responsibility:
Responsible for 1 Accounts Payable Team Lead and 7 Accounts Payable staff.

Position Reports To:
Director, Accounting and Finance.

Responsibilities Summary:

Provide effective, efficient oversight to an Accounts Payable Team processing approximately 70,000 invoices per annum, in a hands-on leadership role with authority to approve transactions, manage escalations, and coordinate with Central Finance, IT, and Procurement groups as required. In addition, will provide project leadership for an AP system implementation from SAP to Serrala, including staff training, resolving data issues and coordinating comprehensive information handovers.

  • Manage end-to-end AP process before and after new system go-live to keep invoice processing, approvals, and payments on track, and proactively clear exceptions and backlogs to maintain service levels.
  • Triage issues, manage escalations, and drive resolutions in coordination with IT, the vendor, and stakeholders.
  • Lead AP team in support of Serrala system expansion, deliver targeted Serrala user training as needed, and reduce repeat issues through coaching and support.
  • Resolve vendor master data issues by logging and tracking tickets with central procurement and ensuring timely closure.
  • Additional AP operations and system implementation responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

Education:
Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Accounting and Finance, or equivalent discipline.

Professional Credentials:
Valid CPA or actively pursuing CPA designation.

Preferred Work Experience:
At least 6+ years of experience in a management role.

Preferred Sector Experience:
AP automation background within a cloud-based system preferred.

Leadership Experience and Skills:
Must have demonstrated people leadership experience in an AP environment.

Technical and Language Skills Requirements:

  • Expert-level SAP proficiency (will be tested).
  • Advanced MSExcel proficiency (will be tested).
  • Demonstrated attention to detail (will be tested).
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge of Canadian Accounts Payable methodologies and best practices (will be tested).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of team management and project leadership best practices (will be tested).
  • Previous experience with Serrala a strong asset.
  • General strong knowledge of MSOffice applications.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, including advanced level business writing skills, and verbal presentation skills suitable for a diverse range of audiences including senior leadership.

Task -Based Qualifications and Additional Attributes:

  • Previous AP automation system experience, with proven experience supporting AP automation go-live, including UAT, post-launch issue resolution, and coordination with IT and external vendors.
  • Strong issue triage and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated record of professional conduct and character. Responsible, reliable and works to deadlines.
  • Proficient de-escalation skills. Excellent listening skills, and the ability to provide and receive effective feedback.
  • Demonstrated team leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and engage with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders, at all levels of seniority.
  • Proven ability to respond to sensitive and confidential matters with tact, discretion, and excellent judgement in the interpretation and application of instructions and organization policy.
  • Strong relationship management skills including client and vendor relations management, negotiation, change management and consulting/advisory skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and collaboratively, and in an advisory capacity, and liaise effectively with a wide and diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to participate in 2+ interview rounds, either online or onsite and start new position at short notice.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, providing satisfactory documentation upon request.
  • Ability to work 100% onsite, abiding by organization health and safety policies.
  • Ability to promptly provide minimum of 2 recent, qualified employment references upon request who are available to speak with either Marberg or Marberg's client. References may be requested at point of second interview.
  • Ability to declare personal Non-Conflict of Interest in execution of assignment responsibilities.
  • Provision of certification of AODA and OHSA online training course completion prior to assignment start.
