The Position

Custom Concrete has an immediate opening for a permanent, full-time 310T/421A / Heavy Equipment Mechanics. The weekly schedule is between Monday to Friday, working 7:00 am to 5:00 pm daily. As a large diversified company, our main focus is safety. Mechanics will report to Shop Foreman and be responsible for performing the following work on all company equipment and highway vehicles:

  • Diagnose, test, adjust, and repair, systems of heavy-duty vehicles
  • Scheduled Daily Inspections on Production Equipment
  • Examines, tests, and troubleshoots, electrical and mechanical problems using standard testing procedures and computer diagnostic equipment
  • Performs routine and scheduled maintenance services according to manufacturer's specifications
  • Perform emergency road repairs as required
  • Submit records of repairs and preventative maintenance to Fleet Administrators
  • Complete reports to record problems and daily workload
  • Tracking hours and service intervals on all equipment
  • Troubleshoot, service and repair, defects on sites
  • Perform maintenance as per assigned work orders
  • Welding/torching and cutting ability required
  • Maintain a safe and orderly working environment
  • Completing major and minor repairs
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience is required
  • Physically fit, with the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs on a regular basis
  • Must be able to handle the physical demands of a job that's in a high-risk environment
  • Must be able to work outside and in all weather conditions
  • Must be able to possibly work long hours as required (including weekends or holidays)
  • Must be able to fulfill our schedule needs as listed
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and repair problems of general and advanced nature
  • Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of engine repair, mechanical and electrical systems and maintenance is required
  • Ability to work in safe and efficient manner

Working Conditions

Working conditions are conducive with a typical Garage environment; must be comfortable with extensive physical labour demands and working with high-risk materials/products. Occasional overtime maybe required to complete various tasks or special projects, which is compensated.
