Job Summary

DRS Pivotal Power has a current opening for an energetic, self-motivated person, with a proven ability to work closely and cooperatively with others, to fill a full time co-op contract position for the Winter 2026 term as a Mechanical Engineer Co-Op.

Students who are registered in a co-op program with their school will be eligible for this co-op term.

As a co-op Mechanical Engineer, your main responsibilities will include (but are not limited to)

  • Work closely with and assist our Engineering Team in any hardware development activities.
  • Use Solidworks or similar 3D CAD program to assist with component and assembly design, test fixture design, and drawing creation and changes
  • Assist the Manufacturing Engineer in the evaluation of production methods, product assembly and assembly/test jig creation.
  • Work on new product manufacturing plans
  • Conducting engineering analysis; such as finite element analysis, when required
  • Produce technical documentation to support the designs they create
  • Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the production and engineering staff, methods, programs and practices
  • Complete assigned tasks on time

What you require to be successful in this role

  • DRS Pivotal Power uses modern simulation and design software.
  • Familiarity with programs such as Solidworks, Altium Designer and Eaglewould be a plus.
