Maintenance Electrician

Stuyvers Bread, located in the Gloucester Industrial Park in Aldergrove, has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Electrician to join our production facility

Morning shift - 6:00am to 2:30pm

(Schedule is on a rotating days basis, 5 days on 2 days off and rotates every 3 months, Sundays are mandatory)

JOB SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for performing maintenance activities to ensure a productive workforce that supports the plant. They will complete work orders to ensure the plant is maintained in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner.

While the position is for an Electrician, we are a production facility and the candidate is expected to take part in mechanical maintenance duties as well.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Troubleshoot machine malfunctions
• Determine maintenance priorities to ensure quality workmanship and specification compliance
• Interact with other departments to ensure the proper functioning of all systems in the plant
• Perform timely repairs and general maintenance of all the equipment in the plant
• Perform electrical work when required throughout the facility
• Perform preventative maintenance on all the equipment as per the respective service manuals
• Report on maintenance tasks to Supervisor and Management team
• Critical thinking during a machine breakdown
• Maintains strict adherence with WorkSafe BC regulations, safety programs, and HACCP regulations
• Performs other duties as required and/or assigned, including mechanic tasks

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Red Seal Electrician
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred
• Knowledgeable with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic work
• Experience with mechanical work would be considered an asset
• Minimum 5 years' experience performing repairs, preferably in the food industry
• Experience performing routine preventative maintenance and extensive work repairing equipment
• Able to use power and manual tools as required (provide your own basic tools; allowance is included)
• Forklift certification and/or experience operating a forklift
• Able to work within tight timelines and complete the required tasks.
• An open and articulate communicator with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Enjoys working in a dynamic, yet supportive, team environment
• Capable of working independently and autonomously while at the same time contributes effectively as a member of the team
