The Opportunity

How You'll Make an Impact
- Report to Vice President, Underwriting, Rating and Product.
- Develop and implement underwriting strategies aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.
- Exhibit sound knowledge of AMA Insurance products, guidelines and policy wordings.
- Drive initiatives to optimize risk selection and enhance pricing accuracy to achieve desired profitability targets.
- Oversee the process and delivery model associated with underwriting operations, ensuring adherence to established underwriting guidelines.
- Monitor the performance of the personal lines portfolio, identifying opportunities for expansion or modification.
- Implement solutions to address underperforming segments and drive portfolio profitability.
- Leverage market research and customer feedback to identify emerging trends and customer needs.
- Lead product development to enhance existing offerings and develop new personal lines products.
- Measure the effectiveness of underwriting processes and portfolio performance.
- Generate regular reports and dashboards to communicate performance metrics to senior management.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and distribution teams to ensure alignment of underwriting strategies with overall business objectives.
What You Bring to the Table
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in business or a related field is preferred.
- You're no newbie with at least 10 years experience in personal and commercial lines underwriting.
- You hold a CIP or FCIP designation.
- You have demonstrated leadership ability by motivating and influencing others towards the achievement of common goals and objectives.
- You're highly knowledgeable about the insurance industry, market conditions and trends.
