Independent Cabinet‑Installation Contractor
Location: Project sites primarily in Saskatoon & area (occasional provincial travel)
Contract Type: Project‑based, independent subcontract agreement
Estimated Earnings Potential: $70 000 – $ per year, paid per installed Project (cabinet, panel, LF of moulding, etc.).
Scope of Work
- Complete residential and commercial cabinet/millwork installations from site preparation to final touch‑ups, following supplied shop drawings.
- Handle warranty/service visits as assigned.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area and comply with Saskatchewan OHS Regulations and Hinge site rules.
- Coordinate directly with Hinge's Installation manager to schedule site access and sign‑off milestones.
- Provide and maintain all necessary tools, equipment, and vehicles required to perform the work.
Contractor Profile – What You Need to Bring
- Business status: Registered sole proprietorship, partnership, or corporation with active GST / PST numbers and the ability to issue invoices.
- Workers' Compensation: Current Saskatchewan WCB account—clearance letter required before work starts.
- Insurance: Minimum CAD $2 million commercial general liability coverage.
- Experience: Demonstrated success installing cabinetry or millwork in residential and/or commercial settings; able to read and interpret shop drawings, troubleshoot on site, and communicate professionally with clients.
- Physical demands: Safely lift, carry, and position materials up to 50 lb (23 kg) regularly; use ladders and step‑stools. Reasonable accommodation is available on request.
- Licensing & driving: Valid Class 5 licence; comfortable towing a 20‑ft enclosed trailer. Reliable vehicle suited to transporting tools and small product loads.
- Tools & PPE: Your own installation tools, mobile workshop setup, and CSA‑approved PPE.
- Technology: Smartphone or tablet for site photos, digital reports, and real‑time communication.
Compensation & Invoicing
- Paid per Project—cabinets, panels, linear feet of moulding, etc.
- Annual earning potential typically ranges from CAD $70 000 to $110 000, depending on efficiency and volume.
- You control your own schedule to meet agreed completion dates; Hinge does not guarantee minimum hours.
- Submit invoices weekly; approved invoices are paid within 15 calendar days.
- Rates are reviewed each year to remain competitive and to ensure that declared hours meet or exceed Saskatchewan minimum‑wage equivalency guidelines
Health, Safety & Conduct
Hinge's Site Safety Orientation, Acceptable Behavior Policy, and Social‑Media Policy apply to all contractors while on company premises or representing Hinge to clients. Non‑compliance may result in suspension of further work assignments.

Important Legal Notice
This opportunity is for an independent contractor. Acceptance of work does not create an employment relationship under the Saskatchewan Employment Act or the Canada Labour Code. Contractors are responsible for their own income tax filings, GST/PST remittances, CPP contributions, EI premiums (if voluntarily registered), Workers' Compensation premiums, and insurance coverage. Nothing herein limits your right to perform installation services for other clients.
