As the Application Analyst in the Digital Transformation team, you will be responsible for application sustainment and configuration of key applications in the Digital Transformation portfolio which includes Meter Data Management (MDM) solution. The Digital Transformation Program is a collection of business technology projects that will result in a major refresh of the processes systems used by Utility staff to manage water assets, workforce scheduling, and timekeeping activities that provide water, wastewater, and stormwater services.

As the Application Analyst in the Digital Transformation team, you will be responsible for application sustainment and configuration of key applications in the Digital Transformation portfolio which includes Meter Data Management (MDM) solution. The Digital Transformation Program is a collection of business technology projects that will result in a major refresh of the processes systems used by Utility staff to manage water assets, workforce scheduling, and timekeeping activities that provide water, wastewater, and stormwater services. In the Application Analyst role, you will deliver value by working with other team members to support and enhance the use of applications, Geographical Information System (GIS) systems, and data related to Water Services. Primary duties include:

  • Perform system configuration of various work and asset management systems, manage changes and upgrades. Resolve operational issues by troubleshooting, researching, and testing.
  • Design and configure end to end solutions that improve MDM System, including system functionality and user reporting needs.
  • Identify data quality issues and ensure procedures and validations are in place to promote the quality of information stored in the systems.
  • Develop and maintain workflow and information models' that describe the business process and related information flow.
  • Collaborate with business leads and subject matter experts to provide effective solution that resolve customer pain points and/or move business objectives forward.
  • Provide end user support, training and documentation for various work related to MDM.
  • Support enhancement projects, communicate with clients to gather business requirements, coordinate test activities, collaborate with team members to develop and implement solutions.
  • Liaise with Information Technology (IT) to extend client solutions with integrations and customization.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field and at least 5 years of related experience.
  • Advanced technical training in Structured Query Language (SQL) is required.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with meter management software, GIS solutions and Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) modelling of operation workflows are considered assets.
  • Experience as a SAFe Agile Scrum Master is an asset.
  • You have a customer service focus, the ability to develop trusted relationships, and the ability to work strategically as well as operationally.

Workstyle

  • This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

work week, with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.
