Lean On Me Companion Care ) continues to grow and is seeking a few experienced, reliable, and loving individuals to provide Seniors Companionship to our clients in Calgary and surrounding communities. Our Companions need to have their own vehicle and be able to drive to / from shifts. Our clients are typically elderly female and male individuals who may be living independently in a private home, or in a seniors residence. Regardless of their physical location, they look to us to assist them with various tasks and activities to enhance their days.
As a Seniors' Companion, the things we do include: taking Clients for walks; assisting with meal preparation and serving Clients; running errands for Clients such as purchasing groceries, prescriptions & household items; socializing with Clients through conversations, playing games, doing crafts and puzzles; light housework for Clients such as tidying their kitchen or living areas; laundry; assisting with Clients' personal care such as nail care, getting dressed, hair and makeup assistance, mobility assistance, dressing changes, bathing, toileting, applying lotions and ointments; taking Clients for a drive or lunch; scheduling & accompanying Clients to medical appointments/assisting to clarify doctors' instructions. As you can appreciate, this list of duties is subject to change and every task is not required for each client. Needs will vary, depending on individual Clients' requirements.
Minimum Qualifications include:
- Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident (must be able to work in Canada without sponsorship)
- Experience working as a seniors companion, personal support worker, or care aide is preferred
- 3+ years' experience working with seniors or the elderly is preferred]
- Demonstrated experience showing love and compassion for seniors
- Above average verbal and written communication skills
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and vehicle, willing to drive to shifts in all quadrants of the City of Calgary (and some shifts just outside of the City Limits). Currently, we have the most demand with our NW clients.
- Ability to work regular hours primarily during weekday mornings. Some afternoons, evening, or weekends (including holidays) may be needed as well.
Lean On Me Companion Care provides a generous hourly rate, with reimbursement for approved Client-related mileage and expenses.
Job Types: Part-time, Casual
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
