Job Overview

Edge Fleet Maintenance has been serving the Grande Prairie area for 27 years and we are looking for a journeyman heavy duty mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate must be able to diagnose issues for both truck and trailers. Computer diagnostic experience preferred. CVIP license an asset. Candidate must have a clean drivers abstract. We require excellent work ethic with strong time management skills. Working over time evenings and/or weekends are required when needed. Will consider 3rd year depending on experience. Wage based on experience.

Duties

  • Diagnose and repair trucks and trailers
  • Perform routine maintenance and system inspections
  • Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards during all repair activities
  • Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts used
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks

Experience

  • Proven mechanic experience with heavy trucks and trailers
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and schematics interpretation
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment when necessary
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on troubleshooting complex mechanical issues
  • Customer service skills are a plus for roles involving client interaction or on-site service calls
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $50.00-$60.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
