Process Engineer

Job Purpose:
The key responsibilities of this position are to support and challenge current processes and procedures to increase product quality and operation efficiency as well as ISO14001 and any environmental improvements.
Duties:
- Responsible to observe all Morbern's occupational health and safety rules.
- Manage improvement projects including quality improvement waste reduction activities.
- Determine the root cause and take corrective action for issues that are leading to the downgrade of finished products.
- Assist Research and Development and Design resources to develop efficient and robust processes for new and existing products
- Work with manufacturing management team and engineering to develop business cases for capital improvements
- Work with engineering and maintenance to design, install and commission new production processes
- Assess the impact of changes in raw materials on existing processes
- Additional duties as required
The role can include:
- Testing new and existing processes,
- Collecting data required to justify improvements and modifications of process conditions
- Purchasing and managing the installation of equipment
- Supporting plant operations
- Investigating and trouble-shooting plant/process problems
- Ensuring that equipment works to its specification and to appropriate capacities,
- Assessing safety and environmental issues,
- Liaising with installation/project engineers and specialists ensuring safe working conditions and compliance with health and safety legislation
Education:
- Engineering Degree – Mechanical, Chemical
- Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma training is an asset
Qualifications: 1 to 5 years' experience as a Process Engineer.
- Strong communication skills, problem solving and organizational skills
- Self-starter, ability to implement solutions, strong leadership skills
- Hands on experience, able to work with all levels of personnel (operations on the plant floor and management at all levels) and implement solutions
- Demonstrates the ability to effectively organize, direct and communicate with subordinates, peers, and other Management personnel.
- Competent in the use of Six Sigma, Black Belt or Kaizen

Salary: $75,000 to $85,000
