Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Drafter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical engineering and drafting, with proficiency in various CAD software programs. This role involves creating detailed schematics and designs for mechanical systems, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications. The Mechanical Drafter will collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop innovative solutions that meet client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed mechanical drawings and schematics using Autodesk Inventor.
  • Collaborate with engineers to understand project requirements and translate them into technical drawings.
  • Create 2D and 3D models for mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Review and modify existing drawings to improve design efficiency or incorporate changes.
  • Participate in system design discussions, providing insights based on drafting expertise.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations throughout the drafting process.
  • Conduct quality checks on drawings to ensure accuracy before submission.
  • Other tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • Proficiency in CAD software including Autodesk Inventor.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with a solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
  • Experience in drafting schematics for mechanical systems and components.
  • Familiarity with construction processes and system design methodologies.
  • Ability to create detailed assembly and sub assembly drawings and documentation for manufacturing purposes.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical information.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree or Technologist Diploma from an accredited College / University in Mechanical Engineering
  • College Graduates - C.E.T. (or eligible in Ontario)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
