- Translate design concepts and engineering input into precise, production-ready drawings, suitable for manufacturing, project layout, or construction use.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure drawings meet all technical, material, and safety specifications.
- Update and revise existing drawings based on feedback, design changes, or new project requirements. Maintain revision control and keep drawing libraries organized.
- Prepare supporting documentation as needed, such as material lists, part specifications, bill of materials, and project documentation packages.
- Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry standards, internal company guidelines, and safety or structural regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience ( minimum 2 years) working as a CAD/AutoCAD drafter, ideally in an industrial, manufacturing, or engineering environment.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD software ( 2D and 3D required ). Familiarity with AutoDesk products, Inventor and AutoCAD Mechanical.
- Solid understanding of technical drawings, engineering/manufacturing specifications, design documentation standards and material standards.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and a high standard of precision in drafting.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret sketches/specifications and convert them into workable drawings.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills — ability to work well with engineers, project leads, customers and fabricators.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines — good time management and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background or education in engineering technology, drafting, or a related field (Diploma, or CAD certification).
- Experience with 3D modeling, mechanical and structural drafting. Familiarity with manufacturing/project layout drawings.
- Exposure to industry-specific standards, safety regulations, and drawing/documentation protocols relevant to manufacturing.
- Experience with piping fabrication.
