Position Summary
Operates a logging truck that transports logs to and from specified locations on time and according to schedule. Role involves adhering to all traffic and safety regulations, conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and ensuring the timely delivery of cargo to its destination.

  • Looking for professional and safety oriented Class 1 Logging Truck Driver
  • Location – Cochrane AB
  • Monday to Friday(Occasionally Saturdays)
  • Start time – Early Morning (During Spring and Fall the hours are modified depending on road conditions)
  • Hauling logs from various locations in Southern Alberta into Sawmill in Cochrane
  • Everyday home

What You Will Do

  • Operates vehicle safely and responsibly, adhering to all DOT and company safety regulations.
  • Conducts routine inspections prior to departure to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition.
  • Manages appropriate cargo documentation and provides necessary paperwork upon the delivery of goods.
  • Coordinates the loading and unloading of the truck, verifying cargo and ensuring items are properly stored and secured.
  • Maintains contact with dispatcher to provide status updates, clarify special instructions, and notify about delays or issues during transport.

What You'll Bring

  • Valid Class 1/AZ License is required
  • Clean 5 years Commercial driving abstract (no more than 3 demerits and 3 negative events)
  • Must have 1-2 years Class 1 driving experience
  • Must have minimum 1 year of logging and/or off road driving experience
  • Must have Mountain driving experience hauling on bush roads in severe terrain both in winter and summer
  • Must be able to drive Manual transmission
  • Must be willing to chain up as needed
  • Must have excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Comfortable with smartphone technology
  • Reliable, flexible, punctual and safe driving behaviors
  • Comfortable backing in all manner of tight spaces and locations
  • Must be bondable and legally able to work in Canada
