Alta Vista Animal Hospital located in Ottawa., ON., currently welcoming a full-time Pharmacy Assistant/Client Service Representative to join our team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an organized, motivated, and empathetic individual to join us in a very important support role for the entire hospital. In this role you will help our clients and their pets feel welcomed and appreciated

  • Create a warm and welcoming environment for our patient and pet parents
  • Filling prescriptions and dispensing medications as directed by a veterinarian
  • Receive client calls regarding refill requests. Review patient records for remaining refills, necessary exam or bloodwork needed, prepare medication labels and fill prescriptions
  • Perform stocking procedures throughout the hospital
  • Quarterly inventory; date entry
  • Provide training for new team members and assist with training protocols
  • Assist clients with any questions they have regarding prescriptions.
  • Fax prescriptions to outside pharmacies
  • General housekeeping duties; cleanliness of pharmacy area
  • Work Reception shifts at front desk as required
  • Willingness to learn more regarding; veterinary services
  • Previous customer service or front desk experience in hospitality or retail is an asset
  • No experience with animals, no problem, so long as you love animals
