Our Employees are the key to how our residents feel about their home… you have the ability to be a part of influencing the lives of all those that reside in our environments and create a caring and compassionate environment.Position Summary:Reporting to the Site Administrator, the Cook I prepares, cooks and bakes a wide range of dietary menu items according to established Menu Plans and identified portions and prepares diet and therapeutic items as required. As a member of the care team, and in accordance with Covenant Care's Mission, Vision, and Values, the Cook I ensures all food handling and preparations are completed in a safe and satisfactory manner in accordance with established standards, processes and quantity controls. The Cook I ensures all staffing and supplies are available for catering functions and reports equipment and hospitality deficiencies to the Hospitality Coordinator.Qualifications:Level Two Food Safe course through Public Health requiredRed Seal or Journeyman Cook certification preferredMinimum three (3) to five (5) years Institutional Cooking experience preferred (other relevant experience may be considered)Demonstrates flexibility by changing routine to accommodate client/resident needsStrong written and oral communication skillsWork within a team-oriented approach to tasks, and ability to respond and communicate with all levels of staff requiredRequired Proof of VaccinationPLEASE NOTE: Covenant Care offers a very competitive compensation and benefits package.All employees new to Covenant Care must provide a criminal record check not older than 6 months ahead of your commencement date. Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Person Screening processing is taking much longer than typical (3 to 4 weeks) and that commencing the process in advance is advisable. Not having your CRC will delay your ability to commence employment.
