Every team member at Dogma is either a certified trainer or earning certification through Dogma Academy, and we pay for your education This role includes $3,500 in paid certification to start through Dogma Academy, the first step toward becoming a professional dog trainer.

This position is ideal for anyone who:

  • Is currently working with dogs (e.g., daycare, shelter, grooming, walking, etc.) and wants to advance into professional training.
  • Is a new or aspiring dog trainer looking for hands-on experience, mentorship, and formal certification.

What You'll Do

  • Supervise and train multiple dogs during your shift, following Dogma's positive, science-based methods.
  • Deliver structured training exercises and enrichment activities.
  • Observe, document, and communicate dog progress with clients.
  • Support our certified trainers with day school and more.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive environment.
  • Promote the Dogma Difference through excellent care and professionalism.

  • Experience working with or caring for dogs (professional or volunteer).
  • Passion for positive, reward-based training.
  • Calm, patient, and confident handling of dogs in a group setting.
  • Reliable, proactive, and eager to grow into a training role.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Note: This role includes a Professional Training Reimbursement Agreement, requiring a 18 month minimum commitment. The training cost depreciates monthly during your first year after graduation. Program takes 6 months and after 12 months, you owe nothing.
