Level II Dental Assistant

Position Summary

We are seeking a Level II Dental Assistant to join our dental practice in Etobicoke/Toronto in the heart of the Bloor West Village community. The ideal candidate is a team player who is patient-focused, detail-oriented, and confident in both clinical and chairside support duties. This role is essential to delivering high-quality care and ensuring smooth daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Chairside Support

  • Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including restorative, surgical, and preventive treatments
  • Prepare treatment rooms and ensure proper setup and breakdown
  • Perform suctioning, instrument transfer, and patient positioning
  • Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays)
  • Take impressions, pours, and fabricate temporary restorations (as permitted)
  • Perform intraoral and extraoral duties within Level II scope of practice

Patient Care & Communication

  • Greet and prepare patients for treatment
  • Provide post-operative and oral hygiene instructions
  • Ensure patient comfort and address concerns professionally

Administrative & Team Support

  • Update and maintain accurate patient records and charts
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of dental supplies
  • Collaborate effectively with dentists, hygienists, and front desk staff

Qualifications

  • Certified Level II Dental Assistant (current registration in good standing)
  • Graduate of an accredited dental assisting program
  • CPR certification (required)
  • Strong knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and terminology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
