Job Summary

We require a highly motivated, energetic and responsible Assistant Instructor to work approximately 16 to 30 hours per week Monday to Thursday.

This is a part-time, permanent position with a training / probation period.

Responsibilities

  • grading of student work (paper and digital)
  • observing, assessing, guiding students with classwork
  • providing feedback to Assistants, Instructor and Parents
  • preparing student folders / worksheets
  • assisting with planning and execution of retention activities , i.e. student awards events, summer games
  • supporting Instructor and other Assistants with instructional / centre management tasks

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with the following attributes and qualifications:

  • love working with children (grades K to 12)
  • minimum one year experience working with children in a classroom / group environment (volunteer or paid)
  • strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • academic reading, writing, verbal communication skills at a senior high-school level (testing will be required)
  • academic math proficiency at a senior high-school level (testing will be required)
  • ability to work fluently among a variety of computer programs and platforms
  • adaptable, dependable, efficient and willing to learn new curriculum within a short time-frame.
  • willingness to complete a criminal records search including a vulnerable sector screen
