CANADA - Senior Commissioning Lead (Electrical, Instrumentation and Mechanical Commissioning Projects)

We're gearing up for an exciting and busy year at VERSYS (Verified Systems), and we need a strong leader like you to join our elite team. Your expertise and leadership will be critical in driving our projects to successful completion.

As a Senior Commissioning Lead, you won't just be overseeing the technical execution of projects; you'll also play a key role in ensuring the timely completion of all documentation and project reporting. We're counting on your knowledge to lead your crew, troubleshoot issues, and communicate effectively with the Project Manager to ensure we have the resources and manpower required to meet and exceed project goals.

Your Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Documentation & Compliance

• Take full ownership of completing and submitting all project documentation, including commissioning reports, punch lists, and project close-out documentation.
• Ensure all documentation adheres to company standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor the progress of project paperwork, ensuring timely updates and accuracy throughout the commissioning process.

2. Leadership & Delegation

• Lead a team of commissioning professionals by assigning tasks, managing workloads, and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Foster a collaborative, efficient, and motivated work environment. Guide your crew by providing clear direction, offering mentorship, and resolving challenges as they arise.
• Continuously assess team performance and provide feedback to ensure that the highest standards of safety and quality are maintained.

3. Technology & Tools Integration

• Utilize digital tools and software (including Hexagon Smart Completions Software) to streamline project activities, ensuring that all processes are documented and tracked effectively.
• Train and support your team in using commissioning technology to optimize efficiency and performance in the field.
• Stay ahead of emerging industry technologies to implement the best practices and innovations into project workflows.

4. Collaboration with Project Management

• Work closely with the Project Manager to forecast manpower requirements, resource allocation, and scheduling adjustments.
• Communicate proactively about project needs, issues, or potential delays, ensuring that the project stays on track.
• Act as a key point of contact between the project site and the broader project management team, keeping everyone aligned and informed.

5. Technical Expertise

• Lead the commissioning and start-up of electrical and instrumentation equipment, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
• Oversee functional testing of various systems, including switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, and other critical components.
• Ensure that all commissioning activities meet quality, safety, and performance standards.

Qualifications:

• Experience: A minimum of 10 years in commissioning, with 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role in Commissioning and Startup Projects.
• Certification: Technology Diploma, or Journeyman certificate, or NETA certified 
• Technical Proficiency: Expertise in commissioning management software, digital reporting tools, and MS Office Suite.
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and mentor a team to achieve success.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients, crew members and senior management.
• Problem-Solving Abilities: A proactive approach to resolving challenges, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and on time.
