The Opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Accounts Manager will play a critical role in managing the financial operations of our organization. This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day bookkeeping activities, financial reporting, payroll administration, and budget management. The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional attention to detail, and a dedication to accuracy and integrity in financial management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank statements and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Assist in the development and monitoring of annual budgets and financial forecasts
Payroll Administration:
- Process payroll for employees accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
- Calculate and track employee benefits, deductions, and tax withholdings.
Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and employees as required.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and variances.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting documentation for audits and regulatory compliance.
Budget Management:
- Work closely with department heads to develop and monitor departmental budgets, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Track budget performance and identify areas for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
- Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and funding applications as required.
- Supervision and Training:
Supervise and provide guidance to accounting staff, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior bookkeeping or accounting role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage 50), MS Excel, and other financial management tools.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Location: In Person ( Chemainus, BC)
Wage: From $40.86/hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Flexible 30 hours per week)
