Position Overview:

The Medical Office Assistant is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our patients, as well as providing support to physicians and medical staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Answering phones, greeting, and registering patients
  • Provide panel management support to physicians
  • Responding to patient enquiries in person and by phone
  • Initiating forms and collecting payment for services not covered by insurance
  • Escorting patients to exam or treatment rooms and preparing patients for physician
  • Cleaning and preparing exam and treatment rooms between patient visits
  • Performing diagnostic testing as ordered by the physician including urinalysis
  • Taking patient vitals as ordered by the physician
  • Scheduling new and existing patients for appointments
  • Scanning patient documents into electronic medical records as required
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience:

  • Medical Office Assistant Certification
  • Recent MOA experience
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records, Healthquest is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Must be able to handle confidential information in compliance with the Health Information Act
