Duties

  • Design, develop, and optimize MATLAB algorithms for complex engineering and scientific applications.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to integrate MATLAB models with other programming languages such as Python, C++, Java, and C#.
  • Develop RESTful APIs and web applications using frameworks like React Express, ensuring seamless data exchange and user interaction.
  • Manage version control and code repositories using SVN, GitHub, Git, and Azure DevOps.
  • Work closely with IT infrastructure teams to ensure system compatibility across Linux, Windows, and cloud environments such as AWS and Azure.
  • Implement secure access controls (RBAC) and ensure compliance with security standards in application development.
  • Participate in Agile development cycles, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and code reviews.
  • Maintain documentation of codebases and system configurations for future reference and troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes by adopting best practices in software engineering.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in software development with extensive knowledge of MATLAB programming.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components including AWS, Azure, Linux, and Windows environments.
  • Proficiency in web development technologies such as JavaScript, React Express, REST APIs, and front-end/back-end integration.
  • Familiarity with programming languages including Python, C++, C#, Java, VBA, .NET framework, and SQL databases like MySQL.
  • Experience working with version control systems such as GitHub, SVN, and Git.
  • Knowledge of application development best practices within Agile methodologies.
  • Background in quantum engineering or related scientific fields is a plus.
  • Ability to develop secure APIs adhering to RESTful principles and implement RBAC security models.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong communication abilities to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
