Role Overview

We are seeking an Independent Wine Sales Representative (Restaurants) to represent Liquid Portfolio, a curated portfolio of high-quality Italian wines, to restaurants and hospitality venues.

This is a commission-only, independent contractor role focused on building long-term restaurant relationships, securing placements, and driving consistent reorders. The role is suited to a self-motivated salesperson who understands restaurant dynamics and can sell premium wine based on quality, origin, and value rather than discounting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage relationships with restaurant owners, sommeliers, and beverage managers
  • Present and sell a curated portfolio of high-quality Italian wines
  • Secure wine list placements and by-the-glass opportunities where appropriate
  • Drive repeat orders and account growth through ongoing relationship management
  • Conduct tastings and portfolio presentations at restaurants as needed
  • Educate clients on regions, grape varieties, style, and positioning of the wines
  • Identify new restaurant opportunities and open new accounts
  • Coordinate orders, follow-ups, and reorders with the agency
  • Represent the Liquid Portfolio brand professionally in the market

Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous experience selling wine to restaurants or hospitality venues
  • Strong understanding of wine terminology, regions, grape varieties, and styles
  • Ability to confidently present and speak about premium Italian wines
  • Proven ability to sell based on quality, story, and fit rather than price alone
  • Existing restaurant relationships are an asset
  • Self-directed, organized, and comfortable working independently
  • Professional, reliable, and relationship-driven approach to sales
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally to accounts
  • Smart Serve Certification

Compensation

Commission-only, independent contractor role.

Earnings are performance-based and tied to account activity and reorder volume.

Job Type: Freelance

Pay: $40,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
