Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Farm Hand to join our family run operation in Cabri Saskatchewan . This role will involve hands-on work in maintaining and operating farm equipment, supporting crop production, helping manage irrigation systems and ensuring any farm task given gets done correctly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will be expected to have a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and a passion for agriculture. This position offers an opportunity to develop practical skills in the agriculture industry, machinery maintenance, and farm management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops in accordance with seasonal schedules.
  • Operate machinery and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and irrigation systems.
  • Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper water distribution across fields as well as scouting fields for disease, weeds and insects.
  • Conduct general farm upkeep such as cleaning, and organizing storage areas.
  • Support heavy lifting tasks related to moving supplies or equipment around the farm.
  • Follow safety protocols during all farming activities to prevent accidents or injuries

Skills

  • Mechanical knowledge
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers license, Class 1 candidates will be preferred.
  • Experience with irrigation systems.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment effectively and safely.
  • Familiar with hand tools, power tools and basic maintenance procedures.
  • Strong understanding of farm operations and crop cycles.
  • Physical strength for heavy lifting.
  • Good communication skills to work efficiently in a team environment

This position would be ideal for individuals that are passionate about agriculture, are eager to learn more about farming operations all while contributing to the success of our family farm. Prior experience with farm machinery is necessary. Wages to be negotiated on experience and skills. Housing can be provided given the situation.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00-$50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 70 per week
