Job Overview

Family farm seeking a dedicated Farm Laborer to join our team. This role involves hands-on work in crop cultivation, maintenance, and farm operations. Position requires physically demanding work, attention to detail and willingness to adapt and learn.

Applicants must be proficient in operating basic hand tools/machinery and large modern farming equipment. Individuals will work both collectively with team and independently performing various tasks involved in the production of grain crops.

Mechanical experience and Class 1 license an asset.

Must be permitted to work in Canada, offer previous farm experience and hold a valid Class 5 license.

Responsibilities

  • Operate farm machinery and heavy equipment safely and efficiently
  • Perform maintenance of farm machinery and equipment
  • Operate air drill, high clearance sprayer, combine and grain cart
  • Support general farm upkeep including field maintenance, rock picking, snow removal, yard maintenance and equipment cleaning
  • Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues with equipment and machinery
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting grain, fertilizer and spray trailer
  • Follow safety protocols during all farm activities, including heavy lifting and operation of power tools

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of farm maintenance preferred
  • Experience with farm machinery, heavy equipment operation, hand tools, and power tools is mandatory
  • Mechanical knowledge helpful for troubleshooting equipment issues
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks throughout the day
  • Good understanding of basic math for measurements and calculations related to farming tasks
  • Strong work ethic with reliability and attention to safety standards
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Flexibility to work long hours during peak farming season
  • Prior experience in farming or agricultural work is necessary

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 80 per week
