1st-Year Apprentice Diesel / Heavy Equipment Mechanic

$22.00 – $30.00 per hour

What You'll Do

As a 1st-Year Apprentice, you will learn the fundamentals of the trade while working alongside experienced mechanics. Duties include:

  • Assist with routine maintenance and basic repairs on diesel engines, industrial equipment, and generator sets
  • Learn proper diagnostic procedures for mechanical and electrical issues
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
  • Assist with disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of components
  • Learn to read and understand service manuals, schematics, and work orders
  • Perform inspections to identify wear or potential issues
  • Maintain accurate service and maintenance records
  • Follow all safety procedures and shop standards

What We're Looking For

  • Registered or eligible to register as a 1st-Year Apprentice (Diesel, Heavy Equipment)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in diesel and power generation systems
  • Basic understanding of tools and mechanical concepts
  • Willingness to learn, take direction, and ask questions
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
  • Ability to work in a shop environment and occasionally in the field
  • Passionate about Diesel engines and equipment

Experience with diesel engines or electrical systems is an asset, but not required — training will be provided.
