Red Seal Journeyman Electician

The Position:

Tidewater Midstream and Infrastructure Ltd., with Local Union 431, have an immediate vacancy for a Red Seal Journeyman Electrician. This is a permanent position based in Drayton Valley, AB. A successful candidate is expected to live within the Drayton Valley area. The primary role of this position will be maintaining, troubleshooting and installing electrical systems that support LNG liquefaction, gas processing, storage and export operations at the Brazeau River Complex (Drayton Valley, AB). The candidate will be responsible for ensuring work is executed in a timely, safe, and effective manner consistent with corporate and site-specific policies, procedures and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

· Maintain, repair, and install electrical equipment including motors, switchgear, MCCs, transformers, VFDs, lighting systems, and emergency power systems

· Troubleshoot electrical faults in LNG process equipment such as compressors, refrigeration systems, cryogenic pumps, vaporizers, and control systems

· Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to ensure continuous and safe plant operations

· Work with 4160V, 600V, 480V and low‑voltage systems in compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code

· Support commissioning, start‑up, and shutdown activities for LNG trains and associated utilities

· Interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and vendor documentation

· Collaborate with instrumentation, mechanical, and operations teams to maintain plant reliability

· Complete work orders, maintenance logs, and equipment history in the plant's CMMS

· Participate in root‑cause analysis for equipment failures and recommend improvements

· Assist with testing and maintaining safety‑critical systems such as ESDs, fire & gas detection, and backup power systems

· Work safely in a safety sensitive environment

· May be required to work overtime on occasion

· Covering the rotating on-call schedule

Qualifications and Experience:

· Minimum 5-10 years related experience in a gas processing facility or other related industry process facility

· A good general understanding of Maintenance practices and equipment

· A valid Red Seal Journeyman Electrician certification

· Dual instrumentation ticket would be an asset

· Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code

· A strong background in industrial piping systems including interpretation of construction drawings (P&ID's, isometrics)

· Ability to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor industrial settings; including adverse weather conditions and working at heights

· Basic computer skills with knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook. Maximo would be an asset.

· Valid class 5 driver's license

· H2S, First Aid training
