Job Description
DispatchingSchedule and secure resources (driver, equipment, etc) in order to achieve planned logistics ordersDispatch loads to drivers through AS400Pro-actively plan for contingencies in order to prevent service failuresAssess and predict operational resources needed to achieve service in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possibleWork with the maintenance department to ensure that we have the equipment necessary to service the customer needsCoordinate pickup and delivery appointments at customer locationsEnsure all satellite messages are answered promptly and efficiently, forwarding or following-up on all those that need itEnsure all macros are completed and equipment movement is correctAnswer phone calls and direct them to the correct party as neededCommunicate load assignments to drivers and resolve driver issues if any occurCustomer Service Manage all Accessorials: Send forms for additional services and ensure that the billing for any Accessorials is completeEnsure all EDI orders are accepted, updated and reflected accurately in the TMSUpdate appointments as per customer requests while updating drivers of any changesCommunicate with customers of any delays or change in appointmentsBook loading and unloading appointments when required for customersProcess driver pays
Other Assignments Provide assistance and coverage for all departments as needed by managementImprove driver retention by providing Excellent Customer Service and always being fair with all driversEnsure absolute data integrity when arranging, managing and executing ordersCommunicate any and all disciplinary issues to Operations Manager and Human ResourcesCommunicate all safety related issues to the Safety DepartmentMonitor Road & Weather Conditions, keeping Drivers Informed, if there is delay to f foresee, do the necessary changes in order to service customer on timeSkills & Requirements1-2 years dispatching experience (preferred but not required)Experience with AS400, TMS, Elogs, People Net and Safety Direct systems is an assetKnowledge of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPointExcellent Oral and Written communication skillsStrong Analytical capabilities with excellent attention to detailTeam player who is able to work well in groupsCustomer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretionOrganization and Time management skillsAbility to Prioritize and Manage TimeSchedule
Friday to Monday, 7:30 am to 6 pm
Training will take place Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 4 pm.
