Job Description

We are thrilled that you're considering joining the TMBUK2 Readwell Team. TMBUK2 is looking for passionate and enthusiastic Reading Strategists dedicated to supporting students' development in early reading The ideal Reading Strategist loves education and has a deep desire to help students succeed.

Your role will be to provide engaging, personalized, and effective online reading support that meets each student where they are

Duties

  • Conduct small group online reading sessions with students ranging from kindergarten through to grades 5.
  • Assess students' reading levels and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop individualized reading plans that cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • Implement engaging reading activities that promote comprehension and fluency.
  • Collaborate with Readwell team to support students with diverse learning needs.
  • Provide learning sessions to reinforce reading skills and strategies.
  • Track student progress and adapt instructional methods accordingly.
  • Proofread instructional materials to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Provide clear explanations of concepts, offer examples, and guide students through problem-solving processes.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes student engagement and motivation.

Skills

  • Completing/Completed bachelor's degree OR demonstrable expertise in subject areas (e.g. Language, Early Literacy, English)
  • Strong background in early childhood education, with a focus on literacy development.
  • Proven experience as a tutor, teacher, or educator, preferably in a remote or online setting.
  • Proficient in teaching methods related to reading, including phonics, comprehension strategies, and vocabulary development.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with students.
  • Ability to proofread educational materials for quality assurance.
  • Reliable internet connection, a quiet and well-lit teaching environment, and appropriate technological equipment.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
