Job Summary:

We are seeking multiple Tutors to join our team to teach High School students. As a Tutor you do not need to have prior experience in tutoring but must show competence in the subject you wish to teach. This opportunity allows you to balance your life responsibilities such as College/University with the need to secure employment. The nature of the role is fully work from home. You will be asked to provide a 'Vulnerable Sector' background check.

The goal is to (1) have the students succeed and (2) to have everyone being satisfied with the level of effort you are putting in. You may use pre-made educational content if you like. You may structure and pace the classes however you find appropriate. But the students should succeed and we must see that you are putting in the effort.

Duties:

  • Assess students' strengths and weaknesses in the subject matter

  • Provide a brief 10 min screen recording to share feedback with the parent once a week or less frequently if not needed.

  • Must collaborate with the team on which approaches and resources can be used to ensure success.

  • Classes are one-on-one.

Requirements:

  • Technical proficiency.

  • Stable internet connection.

  • Either an external writing tablet that connects to the computer, or an iPad with Apple pencil, or a 2-in-1 laptop. Specifications must not cause disruptions.

  • You will have the freedom to use your own Google Meets or Zoom/Teams.

Preference may be given to candidates who completed High School in Ontario or are familiar with the Ontario High School curriculum.
