Markham, Ontario, Canada Golden Bee Homes Inc Full time

We are a residential renovation firm seeking an Architectural Technologist / Designer to convert approved design intent and verified site information into accurate, coordinated, construction ready drawing sets and renderings without rework or interpretation.

At our firm, we don't just draw houses we operate a system that turns vision into buildable reality. We believe that a perfect project starts with a perfect plan. This role isn't only about creativity, it's about precision and flow. We value team members who take pride in clear visual presentation to client, respect the technical truth of a drawing set and understand that their accuracy is what keeps the construction site moving. If you love the discipline of high-level production and the clarity of a well-organized system, this role will suit you well.

What this role delivers:

  • Documented site measurements and existing condition records suitable for design implementation and reference.
  • Construction ready drawing sets aligned with approved layouts, scope, and design direction, prepared using conventions compatible with architectural and engineering workflows.
  • Renderings aligned with the drawings and documented decisions
  • Updated and organized design files reflecting all implemented revisions.
  • Documented escalations or clarifications raised during implementation.
  • Documented standards gap when identified

What this role requires:

  • Ability to draft and produce accurate, coordinated design implementation drawings and high-quality renderings from layouts and site measurements.
  • Exposure to residential and small-scale renovation projects.
  • Hands on involvement in construction drawing sets that have progressed to build.
  • Working proficiency with CAD and 3D modeling and rendering tools (Revit, AutoCAD, D5, SketchUp, or similar).
  • Experience developing design schematics, lighting plans, material specifications, and FF&E documentation.
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, MS Office, Canva, and familiarity with emerging AI tools and platforms.
  • Working understanding of residential construction assemblies and Ontario Building Code (OBC) concepts.
  • Ability to identify and flag potential issues regarding structure, fire separation, and insulation during the drawing phase to ensure code compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn, follow documented direction, and adjust execution based on feedback, standards, and review outcomes.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed for measurements or reviews.

We operate with standards and expect our team to share these:

  • Own the Outcome: We value ownership of the result over simple task-completion. This means looking ahead for potential issues and closing loops without needing a reminder.
  • Direct Communication: We speak plainly and early. We document our decisions and surface bad news fast so we can solve it.
  • Stick to Standards: We use templates and processes for a reason. Follow them every time. If a standard isn't working, tell us so we can fix the system.
  • Protect the System: We ensure our work is complete and accurate so the next person can do their job without hitting unnecessary roadblocks. Everything you do should make the next person's job easier.
  • Learn and Adapt: We don't mind mistakes, but we don't repeat them. When things change, we adjust our behavior to get better results.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Annual Salary Range: $40,000 – $60,000, based on experience
  • Full-time, permanent position
  • Extended health, dental, and vision coverage
  • Life and disability insurance
  • Paid time off and statutory holidays
  • Mileage reimbursement for required site visits

Submit your resume, work samples and technical construction set for review, or apply directly through where you may upload your portfolio and supporting documents.

This recruitment process may involve the use of AI-assisted tools to support candidate screening and evaluation. All hiring decisions are made by human reviewers.
