We are a small ISO-registered manufacturer located in east Toronto. We are experiencing multiple years of double-digit sales growth and are looking for a hands-on, self-motivated individual to join our dynamic team.

Position: Mechanical Design Engineer

Status: Full time position

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Responsibilities:

· Utilize Design Process to plan, conceptualize and successfully meet project goals

· Using SolidWorks, create / revise 3D models and engineering drawings for production release

· Perform DFM Analysis as required

· Participate in DFMEA and Risk Analysis Activities

· Build, test and evaluate prototypes for design validation

· Produce / maintain ECNs, BOMs, assembly instructions, user manuals, test reports, and other technical documents

· Generate drawings and issue production orders for custom fabrication

· Work with local and international suppliers to resolve manufacturing issues and develop cost-effective designs

· Understand and follow the company's Health and Safety Management System

· Ensure all engineering activities comply with regulatory requirements

· Provide technical support to all other departments

· Other engineering related duties as required

Qualifications:

· Mechanical Engineering degree from a recognized university or equivalent

· 2-5 years of experience in the use of 3D modelling programs (SolidWorks / PDM preferred)

· 2-5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design

· Knowledge of various manufacturing process (eg. Metal fabrication, injection molding)

· Ability to read and interpret 2D engineering drawings using the knowledge of GD&T

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint

· ERP working knowledge is an asset; SAP Business One is preferred

· Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to prioritize / multitask effectively

· Ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a high level of organization, a team-player mentality, good time management skills, and possess good mental agility with exceptional attention to detail

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
