Scribendi is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to help build the next generation of AI-driven products that empower researchers worldwide.
In this role, you'll work across the full stack—front end, back end, and integrations—to deliver performant, scalable, and intelligent applications that directly advance scientific research and discovery.
You'll help architect the future of research technology—developing agentic AI systems and intelligent collaboration experiences that remove barriers to discovery. The products you build will be used by scientists and researchers worldwide, accelerating breakthroughs that improve lives.
If you are motivated by purpose, are excited by cutting-edge technology, and thrive in an environment that values autonomy, velocity, and excellence, we'd love to meet you.
Our Mission
Our mission is to harness the power of technology and innovation to expedite scientific research and manuscript development, foster and simplify collaboration among researchers, enhance the likelihood of successful publication, and ultimately accelerate the pace of scientific discovery—driving impactful change across the global scientific community.
Our goal is simple but ambitious: to create tools that advance scientific research and directly improve the human experience.
What You'll Do
- Design and build next-generation platforms that empower researchers and accelerate scientific discovery—from scalable web applications to intelligent, AI-driven experiences.
- Develop and maintain high-performance front-end and back-end systems using modern technologies such as React, , , PHP, and Python, ensuring exceptional quality, speed, and reliability.
- Integrate agentic AI systems that augment human creativity and automate complex research and writing workflows.
- Contribute to architecture and system design, ensuring scalability, security, and alignment with the organization's long-term technology strategy.
- Drive innovation by experimenting with new frameworks, tools, and methods that increase development velocity and platform performance.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including Product, Design, QA, AI Engineering, and DevOps—to translate product vision into elegant, executable solutions.
- Deliver clean, maintainable, and testable code through disciplined development practices, thoughtful peer reviews, and proactive documentation.
- Take ownership of your work from concept to deployment, ensuring smooth releases and reliable post-launch performance.
- Mentor and collaborate with peers, sharing knowledge, supporting growth, and contributing to a culture of engineering excellence.
- Continuously improve systems and processes, identifying opportunities to enhance automation, observability, and developer productivity.
- Operate with autonomy and accountability, making technical decisions that balance velocity, scalability, and long-term sustainability.
Requirements
- A full-stack craftsman—You have deep experience designing, building, and maintaining complex web applications across the stack using technologies such as React, , , PHP, Python, and modern databases (MySQL, Postgres).
- A systems thinker—You understand how architecture, scalability, and performance fit together, and you can design solutions that are both elegant and pragmatic.
- AI fluent—You're excited by the intersection of software engineering and AI, and you know how to integrate AI APIs, workflows, and agentic systems into real-world applications.
- Driven by purpose—You want to build products that matter. The idea of accelerating global research and discovery motivates you to deliver your best work.
- Collaborative and communicative—You thrive in cross-functional teams and see engineers, designers, and product managers as partners in solving complex problems.
- A high-output, high-ownership engineer—You consistently deliver, take initiative, and hold yourself accountable for results. You move fast but never compromise on quality.
- Detail oriented—You care about code clarity, maintainability, and testing. You believe great software isn't just functional—it's reliable, performant, and well crafted.
- Adaptable and curious—You're comfortable shifting between modern frameworks and legacy systems. You love learning new technologies and continuously refining your craft.
- Leadership minded—You mentor others, influence without ego, and raise the standard for those around you.
- Resilient under change—You perform well in a fast-paced, evolving environment and see change as an opportunity to innovate rather than an obstacle.

- Databases: MySQL, Postgres, Redis
- Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, GCP, CI/CD pipelines
