About the Role
The Account Manager plays a central role in building strong client and venue partnerships, driving business growth, and ensuring events are delivered seamlessly. A key part of this role is supporting our relationship with the Victoria Conference Centre (VCC)—working closely with their team to understand event requirements, coordinate processes, and strengthen collaboration.
You'll take the lead on understanding client needs, developing the right solutions, and working with Operations and Exhibitor Services to bring each event to life with accuracy and care. As the primary point of contact for partners and clients in Victoria, you'll guide events from early planning through execution and contribute to the financial success of the branch.
Key responsibilities
Client Engagement & Communication
- Build strong, long-lasting relationships through proactive, consistent communication.
- Work closely with clients to understand event requirements and translate them into clear operational needs.
- Serve as a key liaison with the Victoria Conference Centre, ensuring clear communication, smooth coordination, and a consistent, positive partnership experience.
- Collaborate with Operations and Exhibitor Services to ensure seamless event planning and delivery.
Sales & Business Development
- Prepare quotes, proposals, and tailored solutions for new and returning clients.
- Strengthen key partnerships and support inbound and outbound sales activity.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow market presence and revenue.
- Use ConventionSuite daily to manage customer records, quotes, sales orders, invoicing, and event documentation.
- Maintain high data accuracy and organization within the system to support reporting and financial forecasting.
Financial Management
- Manage invoicing and financial documentation accurately and on schedule.
- Support revenue analysis and monthly reporting, identifying opportunities to improve performance and efficiency.
Operations & Customer Service
- Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the event lifecycle.
- Provide on-site support during setup and execution, ensuring commitments are met and challenges are addressed quickly.
- Participate hands-on in operational tasks when needed to ensure successful event outcomes.
General
- Take on additional responsibilities as required, adapting to the evolving needs of the business and supporting the wider team.
What You'll Bring
- 3-5 years experience in account management, client services, events, or a related customer-facing role.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with clients, partners, and internal teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
- Solid understanding of budgeting, estimating, invoicing, or financial tracking as part of project or account management.
- Hands-on mindset with a willingness to support onsite event operations when needed.
- Strong problem-solving ability and calm under pressure when navigating shifting timelines or unexpected challenges.
- Comfort learning and working within digital systems and tools.
- Experience with NetSuite/ConventionSuite (or similar ERP/CRM or event-management platforms) is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
- Familiarity with Ungerboeck is a bonus
- Valid driver's license and the ability to work flexible hours during major event periods.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
