Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Assistant to join our accounting team. This role is essential in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintaining payroll records, and supporting various accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have experience with payroll systems and accounting software, along with strong data entry and analysis skills. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where precision and confidentiality are paramount.

Duties

  • Assist in compiling hours weekly
  • Enter and verify employee data accurately within payroll and accounting software like QuickBooks or other relevant systems
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare reports for management review
  • Support accounts payable and receivable functions
  • Perform account reconciliation tasks to ensure accuracy of financial data
  • Assist with bookkeeping activities, including data entry related to payroll transactions
  • Qualifications
  • Proven experience with payroll duties
  • Familiarity with accounting software including QuickBooks or equivalent tools
  • Strong understanding of payroll processing procedures
  • Knowledge of accounting principles related to accounts payable/receivable and account reconciliation
  • Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
  • Analytical skills to interpret payroll data and generate reports effectively
  • Background in bookkeeping, human resources, or finance preferred
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
