Cellar Hand

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cellar Worker / Tractor driver to join our team at Moraine Estate Winery. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the production process, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This position requires the ability to operate various equipment safely and efficiently and support our Winemaker in the production and making of Wine.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain equipment used in the cellar, including forklifts for material handling.
• Ability to driver tractor required for vineyard maintenance, including but not limited to spraying, cutting and pruning.
• Sanitate work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
• Assist in the monitoring of fermentation processes, ensuring optimal conditions are maintained.
• Perform routine inspections of equipment, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
• Utilize basic math skills to accurately measure ingredients and calculate production needs.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals while adhering to safety protocols.

Experience

• Previous experience in the wine industry is preferred.
• Mechanical knowledge is a plus, particularly related to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience operating forklifts, tractor or similar machinery is highly desirable.
• Valid Class 5 license with the ability to tow a trailer.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all tasks performed.
