Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada Oryx Pool and Spa Full time

Kamloops, BC – Full-Time or Part-Time

We're a growing local company that services, repairs, and maintains hot tubs and pools in Kamloops and nearby communities. We're looking for an experienced technician who can handle diagnostic work, repairs, opening/closing, and general troubleshooting with minimal supervision.

If you've worked in pool/spa service, HVAC, marine repair, plumbing, or mechanical troubleshooting and can confidently diagnose issues, we'd love to talk.

This role can be full-time or part-time, depending on your preference and the season.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Diagnose and repair hot tub/pool equipment (pumps, heaters, leaks, electronics, circulation issues, etc.)
  • Perform drain/clean/refill service and basic water chemistry
  • Handle openings/closings and winter prep
  • Replace parts, troubleshoot electrical components, and inspect plumbing
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners
  • Maintain job notes, material needs, and follow-up requirements
  • Occasionally train or support junior helpers/apprentices

We will support you with scheduling, admin, invoicing, and parts sourcing - you focus on the technical work.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in hot tub or pool service is ideal
  • OR equivalent experience in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, marine, or plumbing with diagnostic confidence
  • Strong troubleshooting ability
  • Good customer communication and professionalism
  • Valid driver's license and clean record
  • Comfortable working outdoors year-round
  • Ability to handle physical tasks and occasional lifting
  • Reliable, organized, and self-directed

Compensation

  • $30–$40/hr depending on skill and independence
  • Fuel/mileage covered when required
  • Seasonal flexibility available
  • Year-round work is available for the right person

If you prefer contract billing instead of hourly, we are open to that as well.

Why This Trade Matters

Hot tub and pool service is a niche trade with steady regional demand. Very few technicians in the Interior know it well, and customers pay for experience, fast diagnostics, and quality installation. If you want to work in a stable trade that isn't oversaturated — this is a strong long-term lane.

We are a small, respectful, no-nonsense team. Our goal is to grow steadily while keeping quality and customer satisfaction high. We're known for honest work, clear communication, and long-term customer relationships.
