Are you a strategic and hands-on financial leader looking to make a real impact? This role will be 75% hands on, 25% strategic to start. Apera AI is seeking an entrepreneurial Financial Controller to oversee day-to-day financial operations and help drive organizational excellence in a rapidly growing AI company. In this role, you'll be more than just a numbers person—you'll be a key partner in shaping the company's financial strategy and future trajectory.
What You'll Do:
Running day-to-day operations, including AR, AP, payroll, cash management. Manage financial month-end close process and prepare related working papers. Manage month end and quarterly internal, investor and board reporting Oversee the order to cash cycle with customers. Preparation of semi-monthly payroll. Review and supervision of all Accounts Payable, including procurement. Oversee inventory management, including relationship with 3rd party logistics partner. Manage various treasury activities such as cash management, investments, loans. Establish best practices in business processes, procedures, and internal controls. Assist in the development of accounting and company policies (Along with the CFO), own development and implementation of sustainable, repeatable financial and operational processes in anticipation of Company growth Continuous process improvement on recent NetSuite and Hubspot implementations. Oversee company-wide spend management platform Brex, including credit card and travel to ensure compliance with company policies. Facilitate financial reviews, tax reporting, and future audits by external CPA firms. Monthly, quarterly, and annual filings with various governmental agencies. Loading detailed budget into Netsuite, preparing detailed budget to actual analysis Preparation of monthly forecast to actual and board package. Assist in quarterly and annual revenue forecasting and budgeting. Experience in development and real time dashboard reporting using relevant Effectively use BI tools and dashboards Be an effective business partner for the Sales, Support, Customer Success, and Engineering organization.Basic qualifications
8+ years of experience, preference for experience in tech industry. Bachelor's or Master's degree Commerce, administration, or similar. CPA designation. Netsuite and Hubspot experience are assets. Preference for candidates with operational, inventory Proven experience as lead in SaaS accounting and associated metrics Proven experience in developing meaningful powerpoint presentations from financial data. For clarity, what is the message and the summary from an excel sheet Proven experience leading a team through example (walk the talk) Believes in, and mentors "own your stuff" as a commitment Work environment: in-office. Must be proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, BI dashboards. Proven ability to be comfortable 'getting hands dirty' in software ex.
