The Nak'azdli Development Corporation (NDC) is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of our subsidiary businesses. This position plays an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the day-to-day bookkeeping needs of our key retail operations. The Bookkeeper will work to ensure compliance with accounting standards, accuracy in reporting, and efficiency in daily processes.

This full-time position focuses on bookkeeping and accounting support NDC entities. The successful candidate will process accounts payable and receivable, reconcile accounts, assist with fuel tax returns, and prepare financial reports for management review. This role offers the opportunity to grow within NDC's finance department while supporting the continued success of our businesses.

Pay Rate:
$50,000 – 60,000 per year

2-3 weeks per year

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Maintain accurate financial records including general ledger and subsidiary accounts.

· Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable, including high-volume vendor accounts.

· Assist with the preparation and filing of monthly fuel tax returns.

· Reconcile fuel inventory, cash batches, and store deposits.

· Assist in month-end and year-end processes, including report preparation and audit support.

· Prepare and maintain spreadsheets for prepaid accounts.

· Support the Director of Finance with journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports.

· Ensure all transactions comply with NDC policies and financial procedures.

· Perform other administrative and bookkeeping tasks as assigned.

· Ensure confidentiality and compliance with NDC policies and procedures.

· Prepare government remittances (GST, PST)

· Support audits and financial reviews with the finance leadership team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certificate or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; or Bookkeeping Certificate (or pursuing).
  • 3–5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, ideally in a retail environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; Adagio experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of fuel tax reporting and inventory reconciliation is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Possess a valid BC Class 5 Drivers License and satisfactory Criminal Record check.
