Job Overview

We are seeking a Maintenance Person who will be responsible for performing general building and property maintenance. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, efficient, and well-functioning environment in our facility. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced setting, contributing directly to the safety and comfort of our operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance of rooms, public safe, laundry, fan room, fire pump room and boiler room.
  • Perform daily building and property inspections
  • Basic servicing of heating, ventilation and air conditioning units.
  • Drywall repairs and painting, caulking and applying of silicone as required.
  • Replace light bulbs and ballasts as needed.
  • Respond to guest's maintenance requests to improve their stay. The Maintenance worker needs to be competent with using hand and power tools in accordance with WHMIS Health and Safety Standard.
  • Perform general plumbing as required
  • Perform Telus Optik TV resetting
  • Maintain exterior grounds including snow and ice removal or weed eating process. Includes daily cleanup of grounds and vandalism repairs.
  • Clean RTU equipment after use as needed.
  • Maintain heating, air conditioning, laundry, fan room and phone room inspections
  • Inspect and maintain fire alarm panel, smoke detectors, heat detectors and fire extinguishers
  • Responsible for painting and preparing interior and exterior areas such as rooms and public space as required.
  • Maintain hotel log book
  • Personal protection equipment must be used in compliance with Work Safe Regulations.

Job Requirements

  • 2+ years experience in building maintenance
  • General carpentry and small repairs experience
  • Class 5 Drivers Licence
  • Effective communication with guests, staff and other management
  • Knowledge in general repairs of small equipment such as vacuum cleaners etc
  • WHMIS training with handling chemicals and cleaning products
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be ablet to lift, move, push or pull 45 lbs or more.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
