Extruder Operator

JOB SUMMARY

The successful candidate is responsible for:

• Efficient operation of the extruder machines to ensure quality products are produced to Company's specifications.
• Machine start up, shut down, adjustments, troubleshooting problems, and minor repairs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensuring quality of products meet Company's specifications
• Monitoring operation of extruding machines and winding/unwinding equipment
• Inspecting quality of material produced
• Change dies on extruding machines
• Setting up extruding machines, die changes, troubleshooting, and making minor adjustments to equipment
• Performing other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 5 years of extrusion experience is required
• Knowledge of plastics and previous experience working in a plastics environment is required
• Knowledge of roll winding/unwinding equipment is considered an asset
• Successful candidates will possess good mechanical and/or technical ability
• Critical thinking and problem solving
• Knowledge of general labour duties
• Physically able to lift at least 50 lbs
• Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English

Starting wage: $20 to $25 Shift premiums + bonus.

Benefits: 9 month waiting period.

Hours of work: 8-hour rotational shifts. Overtime.
