The Role

This is more than dispatch — it's the central coordination point for drivers, customers, and internal teams. You'll play a key role in ensuring freight moves efficiently, safely, and on schedule.

This hybrid role includes:

Dispatch & Driver Coordination

· Act as the primary point of contact for long-haul drivers

· Provide accurate load details, appointment times, and customer instructions

· Update dispatch systems in real time with trip notes, delays, wait times, and extra charges

· Plan driver assignments with efficiency, compliance, and performance in mind

· Communicate closely with Sales and Operations teams

· Keep customers and internal teams informed of driver progress and upcoming needs

Business Support

· Schedule customer appointments and manage service changes or delays professionally

· Book freight for regular house accounts and support end-to-end service delivery

What You Bring

· Experience in dispatch, logistics, transportation, or customer service

· Familiarity with dispatch software (Fleet Manager is an asset)

· Strong communication, organization, and time management skills

· Ability to stay calm and focused in high-pressure situations

· Knowledge of Hours of Service (HOS), routing, and load security

· Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and planning tools

· Team-oriented mindset, positive attitude, and attention to detail
